Jane Lappage will only work with products tried and tested by herself so you can rest assured you’re in good hands. Jane has taught calligraphy for many years and has her easy formulas to tutor you for the whole course.
Please note that all Jane's classes are taught in English.
Who is this course for?
This course is great for beginners or people wanting to improve their style and flair. Brilliant for people needing to brush up on rusty skills.
What will I learn each week?
- Week 1 - Introduction to Italic Calligraphy, Holding the pen and getting the nib angle correct. Basic exercises and letter structure
- Week 2 - Progress to capitals and look at ways to get confident with your letter structure
- Week 3 - Complete style and flourish ideas and look at how effective size change can be using the different nib size provided
- Week 4 - Put all your lessons together and create your own masterpiece combined with understanding design and layout
How does it work?
We'll be using Zoom and will send an invitation code once your booking date and time has been agreed. Then on the date, use your computer or tablet to join me by clicking on the link sent to you. It's as simple as that. Once you're online you can watch and learn in the comfort of your home.
You can use my private tuition services for one-to-one lessons to further advance your skills and knowledge if you wish. Just contact me.
What will I need?
Everything required for the entire course is supplied and shipped to you once you have made your order. Both packs will be delivered to one address.
This is what you will receive in each pack prior to the course:
- 1x Speedball pen holder
- 1x No2 nib (choose from left or right handed)
- 1x No3 nib (choose from left or right handed)
- 1x large bottle of Hamburg black ink from Bortoletti
- All relevant sheets and practice lines
- 1 x bleed proof layout pad
