DESCRIPTION:\nPart of the Oxford Summer School 2026\n\n\n\nSaturday 8th August 2026 – Cost: £70\n\n\n\nCourse Description:\n\n\n\nModern calligraphy is described as wonderful and ‘user friendly’ compared to classic scripts and it is perfect for both left and right handed people. Jane’s new approach to this script is to work with shiny paints that look amazing on dark or black card. She will begin with the basics, teaching you to hold the fine point nib correctly in order to generate the right strokes. You will then work the letters and connecting strokes.\n\n\n\nAfter practicing this Jane will then show you how to design and layout a card and you will take away a beautifully blended finished piece.\n\n\n\nSuitable For:\n\n\n\nThis course is suitable for beginners or improvers alike.\n\n\n\nRequirements List:\n\n\n\nIf you have calligraphy items please bring them and Jane will see if they are suitable for this class or advise their best use.\n\n\n\nMaterials Cost:\n\n\n\nThere will be a charge of £5 to cover the cost of all materials.
