DESCRIPTION:\nPart of the Oxford Summer School 2026\n\n\n\nStarts Thursday 6th August 2026 for two daysCost: £140 for the two day course\n\n\n\nCourse Description:\n\n\n\nCopperplate is beautifully elegant script and is suitable for all abilities including both left and right handed people.\n\n\n\nOver the course of two days you will learn how to use a fine point nib and practice the strokes required to construct the alphabet and particularly the letters you choose to make a floral card.\n\n\n\nPractice is key, and you can experiment with both sparkly paints and traditional inks that give impressive results even on practice work.\n\n\n\nFollowing this initial instruction, you will have the option to either learn freehand floral illustration techniques or work with a prepared template. Both approaches will result in the development of new skills and a beautifully crafted card which can be fine tuned to any occasion such as birthdays, anniversaries or weddings.\n\n\n\nSuitable For:\n\n\n\nThis course is suitable for beginners or improvers alike.\n\n\n\nRequirements List:\n\n\n\nIf you have calligraphy items please bring them and Jane will see if they are suitable for this class or advise their best use.\n\n\n\nMaterials Cost:\n\n\n\nThere will be a charge of £8 to cover the cost of all materials.
