Then this is the one for you.\n\n\n\nModern calligraphy is a fresh, new style that brings a flexibility and uniqueness that is both appealing and accessible. You will have seen this on trend script everywhere and the beauty of learning this style is that it is easy to master and personalise, making it unique to you. Modern Calligraphy lends itself to a more fluid, closer-to-your-handwriting approach than other, more structured calligraphy styles.\n\n\n\nOn this 1 day workshop you will have the opportunity to learn more and practice more throughout the day. Sessions are always light hearted, fun and aimed to give an understanding of the skills needed to produce this very popular and beautiful script. Ideal for embellishing your coloured Christmas card or tag with those personal touches or generating your own unique designs.\n\n\n\nLearn about the history of calligraphy and how to correctly hold the pen and generate the strokes needed to create this lovely script. Practising this technique during the morning, will help gain your confidence to demonstrate all that has been learned.\n\n\n\nAfter a break for lunch you will learn about design, layout and how to use this script to its full potential. Complete a finished piece of your choice (such as a Christmas card, place name, gift tag etc.) which combines all the flourishes and skills of the script.\n\n\n\nEverything is provided for the class including a basic nib holder and fine point pen nib (perfect for right or left handers), practice lines, letters and paper (all yours to keep) along with Jane’s years of knowledge and information on this historic skill.\n\n\n\nUsing mainly white ink as well as the fantastic metallic inks your work will look a million dollars.\n\n\n\nMany other products for excelling at this art will be available to buy on the day.\n\n\n\nCourse Highlights\n\n\n\n\nFriendly, comfortable and well lit environment\n\n\n\nUse of all tools and materials needed to complete your projects\n\n\n\nGenerous table space\n\n\n\nClear information and demonstrations\n\n\n\n\nThe course focus is always on fun and friendly creativity with lots of personal tuition from an experienced calligraphy artist.\n\n\n\nFOOD: Hot and cold refreshments will be provided throughout the day.\n\n\n\nYou are welcome to bring your own lunch to the workshop or alternatively the shop is situated next to the wonderful Mulberry Tree Cafe where you can purchase delicious food at reasonable prices.
